How Many Sessions Will I Need?

September 23, 2026•4 min read

You've got the price in front of you. Ninety-nine pounds, one session.

And you've already multiplied it by six, because that's what these things are, isn't it. Six weeks, standing appointment, the money going out on the same day every month until somebody says stop.

That sum is the reason a lot of people close the page. So let me answer the question you're actually asking, which isn't really about numbers.

What you're really asking

You want to know what you're signing up for.

Not the first appointment. The shape of the whole thing. Whether this is a Tuesday in October or whether it's your Tuesdays until Christmas, and whether the person taking your money is going to be straight with you about which.

That's a fair thing to want to know before you book anything, and you shouldn't have to ask it out loud.

The honest answer

Most people come to me for one thing, and quite often one session does it.

Some people get what they came for in the Reset Session and I never see them again. That's not me being modest about what I do. That's how it's meant to go.

Others want to carry on, and that's a decision they make afterwards, once they've seen what a session is like and what's changed. It isn't a decision I ask anybody to make in advance.

Why the page only has one offer

Because I'd have to guess at any other number.

I've not met you yet. I don't know what you're bringing, how long it's been there, or how quickly you'll take to it. Anybody who gives you the number before they've spoken to you has picked it off a price list rather than out of your situation.

So there's one session on the page, it costs ninety-nine pounds, and when it's finished you decide what happens next. If it turns out you've got something bigger than one session, I'll tell you that on the call and we'll sort out how to do it properly. What I won't do is put you on a standing appointment you didn't ask for.

What makes it one session, and what makes it more

The thing that changes the answer isn't how bad it feels. It's how big a shape it is.

One session tends to suit one pattern with edges on it. The presentation in November. The conversation with your sister you've been putting off since the spring. Walking into a room where you don't know anybody. Something you could describe to me in two sentences, that happens in a particular place, and that you can picture going differently.

More than one tends to be where it's older and wider. Where it isn't one room, it's every room. Where it's been going on since school and it's wound itself round several parts of your life, so that untangling one bit shows you the next bit.

You'll usually know which one you've got. And if you're not sure, that's exactly what the free call is for. If it's the older, wider kind, I'll say so before you book anything, and we'll agree between us how many sessions that's likely to take.

How you'll know you're done

Not by feeling different, although you might.

You'll know because the thing you were avoiding has happened, and it went better than the version you'd been running in your head all week. That's the only measure I'm interested in. You went to the thing. You said the thing. You got up and did the talk and your hands were fine.

Some people notice it on the day. Some notice it three weeks later, when they realise they've booked something they'd have found a reason not to book in June.

If you do want to come back

Plenty of people do, and usually for something else entirely.

They come for the presentation, that gets sorted, and six months later there's a job interview, or a wedding they've got to speak at, or they've decided to start the business. So they book another one. It's the same one-session shape, on a new thing.

That puts you in charge of when you come back, rather than a standing appointment deciding it for you.

One way to find out

I do a free fifteen minute call.

Tell me what you're bringing and I'll tell you whether I think it's a one-session job. If I don't think it is, I'll say so on the call, before you've spent anything. And if I don't think I'm the right person for it at all, I'll say that too.

You've done the sum with six in it. Fifteen minutes will get you the real number.
